U O Equipment Company 

The original company, United Oxygen, Inc., was started in Oklahoma City, in the mid-seventies by an ex -Oxequip employee and two industrial safety manufacturers’ reps. The company went out of business in June 1981. 

Robert “Bob” Wright, Sr. and son Robert Wright, Jr., saw the potential and restarted the business in August of 1981 in Houston, TX.   The elder Wright had been at Encon manufacturing and was employed at Vallen Safety at the time.  Bob, Jr. and his mother, Dorothy, worked the business full time with a handful of employees, with Bob, Sr. overseeing things where needed. 

Bob, Sr., retired from Vallen/Encon in 1987 and ran U O Equipment until he passed away in July 1988.  Dorothy continued to work until 1998 when she decided to retire to spend time with her grandchildren.   

Selling through the finest industrial safety distributors U O Equipment has grown into an international company.  It is the best known emergency oxygen equipment, for industrial safety, in the United States.  Many Fortune 500 companies and government agencies prefer to use UOE units for their emergency oxygen needs. 

Bob Wright, Jr., has managed U O Equipment since 1988 with a handful of committed long time employees who strive to deliver the utmost personal service.
